On behalf of the newly formed Petroleum Administration (PA), I would like to welcome you to this website that will focus on matters related to the 1^st licensing round for hydrocarbon exploration within the Lebanese offshore EEZ (Exclusive Economic Zone). The PA would also like to thank the Ministry of Energy and Water (MEW) for its continued support during the transition process.

Until the PA own website is operational important updates and announcements about the license round will be made available through this website and key application documents may be downloaded.  

Pre-qualification for the 1st License Round closed on the 28 March 2013 and applications were received from 52 companies.  Evaluation of the applications is underway and the names of companies who have been successful in pre-qualifying  were announced on 18th April 2013 (download presentation).

The 1st License Round is scheduled to open on 2 May 2013.
