Under the auspices of the Lebanese Ministry of
Energy and Water, the first international forum dedicated for oil
and gas exploration in Lebanon concluded its activities at Le Royal
Hotel - Dbayeh - Lebanon on 30 June 2011.
The meeting was opened by Gebran Bassil, Minister of
Energy and Water Republic of Lebanon (see
keynote address) and important updates and announcements related to
the first Lebanon Offshore Bidding Round have been disclosed.
LIPE FORUM 2011 was a resounding success with
participants from 29 different countries (237 delegates), the show has established
itself firmly on the petroleum event calendar. This Forum featured
more than 25 local, regional & International respected speakers
sharing expertise and experience with the attendees.
LIPE FORUM 2011 offered a unique platform to
network and meet with Geoscientists, engineers and experts from
National and International Oil Companies, Research and Academic
Institutes, as well as consultants and witness significant
developments in the frontier Levantine Basin petroleum province.
A one-day
geological fieldtrip followed on the 1st of July 2011
to visit interesting sites in Mount Lebanon and the Bekaa valley,
where source rocks, structures and potential analog reservoirs are
exposed.
